Daniel J. Fox, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist in Texas, international speaker, and multiple award-winning author. He has specialized in the treatment and assessment of individuals with personality disorders for over 20 years across state and federal prison systems, universities, and private practice.
Dr. Fox recently retired from the federal prison system after 21 years of service, where he provided assessment and treatment for individuals with complex personality presentations. He continues to serve as Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Houston and maintains a private practice at Applied Psychological Services, PLLC in The Woodlands, Texas, where he specializes in the assessment and treatment of individuals with complex psychopathology and personality disorders. Through his participation in PSYPACT, Dr. Fox provides telepsychology services to clients across more than 40 participating states.
Dr. Fox is the author of nine traditionally published books through PESI, New Harbinger, and Routledge, including The Clinician’s Guide to Diagnosis and Treatment of Personality Disorders, the award-winning Antisocial, Borderline, Narcissistic and Histrionic Workbook: Treatment Strategies for Cluster B Personality Disorders (now in its second edition), the award-winning Narcissistic Personality Disorder Toolbox, the bestselling Borderline Personality Disorder Workbook, Complex Borderline Personality Disorder: How Coexisting Conditions Affect Your BPD and How You Can Gain Emotional Balance, and Take Charge of Your Story: A Guided Journal for BPD. Several of his titles have been translated into multiple languages and are used by clinicians and clients internationally.
Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Fox conducts professional seminars internationally, training mental health clinicians on the assessment and treatment of complex clients and personality disorders. He also provides consultation and supervision to practitioners working with these populations. His YouTube channel, focused on personality disorders and relationship psychology, has grown to over 350,000 subscribers, making his educational content accessible to a global audience of clinicians, clients, and family members seeking to understand these conditions.
Dr. Fox has taught and supervised students for over 20 years at various universities across the United States, including West Virginia University, Texas A&M University, University of Houston, Sam Houston State University, and Florida State University. He has published numerous articles and given workshops on personality disorders and crime, treatment strategies for antisocial, borderline, narcissistic, and histrionic personality spectrum presentations, and emotional intelligence.
